A close collaboration between Poul and Hanne, the PK8™ was released in connection with the 'The Furniture Architect', a retrospective exhibition based upon Kjaerholm himself. Influenced by the iconic Kjaerholm cantilever chair of 1953, the smooth undulating curves of the seat form a unique design, perfectly complemented by a base structure of anodised satin-brushed aluminium and discreetly clasped by three screws. A strikingly minimal piece, the PK8™ can be effortlessly integrated into an array of classic and contemporary interiors, whether utilised as an occasional side chair or alongside the Fritz Hansen PK51™ as a dining or office chair.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
