Originally designed in 1952, Poul Kjaerholm’s iconic curvilinear lounge chair was decades ahead of its time. Inspired by the sculptures of Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, PK0 A’s dynamic curves pushed the boundaries of possibility. The moulded forms of seat and base gracefully interlock using a simple spacer, creating an object that is both functional and beautiful. With only 600 chairs in circulation until now, Fritz Hansen’s re-release of this design classic gives you the opportunity to add a work of modern art to your home. The lounge chair pairs perfectly with the glass-topped PK60 coffee table.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
