Originally created in 1931 to provide precise illumination for pianists, the PH 1/1 Piano Table Lamp brings a celebrated piece of lighting heritage into contemporary interiors. Its expressive curved stem and counterweight elegantly unite movement, stability and function, while the reduced scale (from the original 2/2 opal version) makes this 2026 Limited Edition equally at home beyond the piano.
Four-layered mouth-blown, dusty terracotta-coloured glass shades cast a warm, tranquil glow, softened by a white inner surface and directed exactly where you need it, thanks to the piece’s movable stem. An aged brass frame, fine brushed detailing, and an engraved PH logo add a refined finish. Position it on a desk, console or side table to enjoy focused light with a distinctly musical character.

Poul Henningsen is an integral figure in lighting design and architecture, whose revolutionary views on the utilisation of light in the home led to a number of ground-breaking designs.
Collaborating with Louis Poulsen in 1924/25, Henningsen produced the first version of the seminal PH multi-shade lamp, a classic piece of modern lighting design, featuring separate elements which are shaped and assembled in such a way that the bulb is covered and light is directed downward, creating a soft, diffused effect.
Henningsen was aware of the importance of light in urban life, but sought a way to subdue the harshness of electric light while harnessing its mood-altering properties, believing that the aesthetic of an interior is highly dependent on how light is used.
