Embodying the charm and elegance of nature, the Clam’s mouth-blown glass shades resemble a pair of seashells while the working mechanisms draw from the traditional functionality of an oil lamp. Created by design duo Ahm & Lund, the design is the winner of Denmark’s Next Classic, a televised national competition showcasing the design talents of the future. Demonstrating an innovative poetic form, expert craftsmanship ensures that each intricate element appears effortless and geometrically simple as a whole. The Clam Pendant Light, available in two sizes, provides a mood-enhancing ambience. Easily altered, the shades slide open and closed with the brushed brass fittings, ideal for elevating dining and living spaces with a versatile atmosphere.
Based in Copenhagen, Ahm & Lund is a design studio founded by Isabel Ahm, an architect, and Signe Lund, a trained cabinet maker.
Ahm & Lund studio was born after the pair took part in the Danish TV programme ‘Denmark’s Next Classic’, where they created the winning Clam Pendant design. Long-lasting design and aesthetic sustainability hold prominence for the duo, leading to meaningful products anchored in Danish design traditions.
