The Mantis floor lamp from DCW Editions is built around an intuitive system of counterweights that combine with a series of strong and flexible metal bars, resulting in a four-position angle adjustment. Finished with a spun aluminium shade, the light offers a wide field of illumination that works in numerous settings. Whether atmospherically warming the corner of a living room to elegantly filling a bedroom, the Mantis is a hugely versatile piece of modern sculptural lighting.

Movement is intrinsic to all of Schottlander’s work; an artist, an engineer and in no small measure a handyman, he devised a clever system of counterweights combined with a series of strong and flexible metal bars, both utilised in many of his designs including the Mantis lamp.
