All the familiar details are present: springs, angled shade and a rotating head, yet everything is very different. NJP Table is a new interpretation of the classic architectural lamp, with functional qualities that have helped make it the archetypal work lamp and a popular choice in workplaces and private homes.
The shade head is open at the rear so that reflected light from the LED light source is utilised to illuminate the top section of the arm. The angle of the shade head in relation to the arm can be seamlessly adjusted via a ball joint; a decorative – and practical detail. Part of the NJP family.
Behind the Nendo trademark is Oki Sato, the Japanese designer born in Canada in 1977. Sato graduated in 2000 from Tokyo’s Waseda University and went on to specialise in Architecture (2002). While still a student, in 2002, he won the Gold Medal at the Koizumi International Lighting Design show, in addition to many other awards.
Oki Sato founded Nendo Design Studio in 2002 and has since gone on to produce contemporary designs for Cappellini, Fritz Hansen, Wastberg and Louis Poulsen.
