Created as a dialogue between heritage and modern living, the After Dining Table reflects Anastassiades’s refined approach to proportion, geometry and material honesty. The After collection reimagines familiar furniture archetypes through a quieter, more architectural lens, bringing a more contemporary design language to Fritz Hansen’s traditional craftsmanship.
Expertly crafted from solid ash with a matching tabletop, the table balances generous proportions with understated elegance. Comfortably seating four, it creates a calm focal point for living or dining spaces, both intimate and open. Its sculptural silhouette and tactile wood grain bring warmth, structure and effortless sophistication to everyday gatherings, especially when paired with the matching After Chair.
Positioned between fine art and design, Michael Anastassiades creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian and almost mundane, yet full of vitality one might not expect.
He launched his studio in 1994 to explore contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture and environmental design. The studio’s philosophy is a continuous search for eclecticism, individuality, and timeless qualities in design.
Michael Anastassiades trained as a civil engineer at London’s Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine before taking a masters degree in industrial design at the Royal College of Art. He lives and works in London.
