Schmitz wanted to create a light with as much fluid motion as possible when designing the Aaro Series of lights. The lights revolve around the use of spheres, with two pivot points allowing frictionless, almost unlimited movement, reminiscent of planets orbiting around one another. The light is ideal for numerous spaces around the home, and due to its adjustability, can be directed in almost any direction to illuminate your chosen area with ease. This light is part of the Aaro collection.
Simon Schmitz is a lighting designer from Hamburg, Germany.
Graduating from HFBK Hamburg in 2018, Schmitz has gone on to work for numerous lighting manufacturers in only a short space of time, namely DCW Editions and Martinelli Luce. Schmitz's work is defined by its sculptural form, creating pieces that are eye-catching as well as functional.
