The Wiggle Side Chair is part of Frank Gehry’s 1972 furniture series ‘Easy Edges’, in which he succeeded in bringing a new dimension to such an everyday material as cardboard.
The Wiggle Side Chair is made from corrugated cardboard, and although it may look surprisingly simple, the Wiggle Chair has been constructed with an architect’s skill and is exceedingly robust and stable.
Frank Gehry is one of today’s most important architects. Born in Toronto in 1929 Gehry studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and established the Frank Gehry & Associates architectural studio in Los Angeles in 1962. He has an extensive portfolio of architectural projects and modern furniture design.
His most iconic furniture designs for Vitra include the Wiggle Side Chair and Stool from his 1972 Easy Edges series.
