The Wiggle Stool is part of Frank Gehry’s 1972 furniture series ‘Easy Edges’, which introduced a new dimension to the everyday material of cardboard.
Although they look simple, the pieces in Easy Edges owe their robustness and structural stability to the architectural quality of the designs.
Frank Gehry is one of today’s most important architects. Born in Toronto in 1929 Gehry studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and established the Frank Gehry & Associates architectural studio in Los Angeles in 1962. He has an extensive portfolio of architectural projects and modern furniture design.
His most iconic furniture designs for Vitra include the Wiggle Side Chair and Stool from his 1972 Easy Edges series.
