Building on the success of Vitra’s Slow Chair, developed by the Bouroullecs in 2006, the Slow Sofa reimagines the chair’s signature textile sling cover design with a fresh, contemporary edge. The original interplay of fitted fabric over tubular steel remains, now refined with removable covers and eco-conscious materials that speak to today’s sensibilities.
Lightweight, compact and easy to reposition, this two-seater sofa is ideal for urban living. Exclusive Flocca bouclé fabric upholstery offers a cosy, velvety feel while loose seat cushions add another layer of comfort, not to mention a welcome splash of colour. Designed with longevity, adaptability and wellbeing in mind, the Slow Sofa will be your new favourite spot to relax and unwind.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the Breton-born brothers, are the stars of European design and the most promising industrial designers to have emerged from France since Philippe Starck in the 1980s.
A combination of romanticism and functionality runs throughout both brothers’ work. Like all truly talented designers, the Bouroullecs have defined a distinctive visual style, which Jasper Morrison (one of the designers they most admire) described as “thoughtful and disciplined, with a real spirit and poetry”.
