NJP resembles a classic anglepoise lamp but boasts smart new functions intended to make it easy to adjust for work or relaxation. Oki Sato has built on the design of the NJP Table lamp and his principle of keeping things simple. The light’s flexible head provides exceptional adjustability, which is often lacking in standard wall lights.
The NJP light also features an automatic switch-off function, which activates if you forget to switch off the light, helping to keep energy consumption down.
Behind the Nendo trademark is Oki Sato, the Japanese designer born in Canada in 1977. Sato graduated in 2000 from Tokyo’s Waseda University and went on to specialise in Architecture (2002). While still a student, in 2002, he won the Gold Medal at the Koizumi International Lighting Design show, in addition to many other awards.
Oki Sato founded Nendo Design Studio in 2002 and has since gone on to produce contemporary designs for Cappellini, Fritz Hansen, Wastberg and Louis Poulsen.
