Forming part of Knoll’s innovative and highly contemporary Matic line, the Open Storage Unit is a beautifully realised piece of simple, highly functional furniture.
Naturally low-lying, the Matic features a movable tray that allows for the unit to be used as a coffee table, while the base of the unit itself provides ample storage for all manner of goods. Finished with painted steel panels, the internal elements of the piece are made from natural oak, with the resulting aesthetic one which combines the classical with the cutting edge.
Italian designer and architect Piero Lissoni received a degree in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan. After completing his studies he worked as a designer for Molteni and Lema.
In 1986 he founded ‘Studio Lissoni’ with Nicoletta Canesi, developing projects in architecture, interior architecture, design and graphic design. The studio also works in the field of art direction and public relations. He has worked with a wide range of design houses and manufacturers including Driade, Kartell, Artemide and Lema.
