The Biboni™ Sofa distils Johnston Marklee’s sculptural language into a piece shaped for comfort and character. Its rounded volumes, gentle recesses and playful curves echo the duo’s architectural sensibility, creating a silhouette that feels both expressive and iconic, much like that of the classic Chesterfield sofa.
In both home and commercial settings, the Biboni™ offers an inviting balance of upright support and ease - ideal for relaxed living spaces or design-led lounges. Discreet, inset feet give the three-seater sofa a floating lightness, allowing its distinctive form to breathe, while bespoke tailoring in bi-stretch fabric transforms it into a luxurious, tactile statement that lends gravitas, softness and artistic presence to contemporary interiors.
Johnston Marklee, the celebrated Los Angeles studio founded by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee in 1998, approach interiors with an architect’s eye - treating furniture like buildings in a city that shape the flow, mood and movement of a space.
Sculptural, scalloped forms are native to Johnston Marklee’s work; their designs explore volumes and voids in space and how they are shaped by light and shadow. The Biboni™ Sofa for Knoll Studio heralded the duo’s debut into commercial furniture production.
