Lightweight and portable, the GUBI Obello Lamp boasts a novel silhouette, masterfully crafted as one singular piece from mouth-blown glass. Featuring a long-lasting battery and rich, uniform light, it’s designed for indoor and outdoor use.
The Obello’s integrated dimmable LED light source offers various lighting levels from the equivalent of a single candle to full illumination. The soft, adjustable glow sets the tone wherever it’s placed, creating a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that lingers long after sunset.
American designer William ‘Bill’ Edwin Curry (1927-1971) captured the zeitgeist of the 1960s and ‘70s with his iconic lamp designs.
Beginning his career as a graphic designer and art director in the aero-tech industry, he launched his own home furnishings company, Design Line Inc in 1962. Credited with developing the first ‘total look’ lamp forms – eliminating the base-bulb-shade concept and instead exploiting the bare bulb in a playful, self-contained unit – he was recognized as one of California’s leading designers by the time he died at the age of just 43.
