Seventy years on, the PK22™ Lounge Chair remains a masterclass in restraint, where structure and material are distilled to their purest form. First conceived in 1956, its architectural lightness and sculptural clarity continue to define a timeless design language - now reinterpreted with a richer, more tactile sensibility.
Upholstered in velvety Haze Leather, each piece is uniquely marked and evolves beautifully over time; make it yours by choosing from four specially curated colourways to suit your space. The refined satin-brushed steel frame offers strength with visual lightness, while the low, open form invites relaxation when you need it most. Wherever it stands, the PK22™ Lounge Chair becomes a quietly iconic presence that shapes the atmosphere around it.
The PK22™ Lounge Chair is also available in Fritz Hansen’s standard surface selection: leather and wicker.
Poul Kjaerholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials.
