A natural progression from Vitra’s acclaimed Slow Chair, first introduced by the Bouroullec brothers in 2006, the Fabric Slow Chair brings a refreshing update to the textile sling cover concept with a modern, forward-thinking spirit. The tightly fitted fabric over the tubular steel frame remains, but now with removable covers and sustainable materials - aligning craft with contemporary values.
Compact, versatile and easy to move, the armchair is perfectly suited to smaller spaces. Upholstered in Flocca bouclé fabric for a tactile, cocooning feel, it features two loose seat cushions that increase comfort while adding subtle colour and texture accents. Thoughtfully crafted for durability, flexibility and everyday wellbeing, the Slow Chair is destined to become the place you’ll always return to for laid-back luxury.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the Breton-born brothers, are the stars of European design and the most promising industrial designers to have emerged from France since Philippe Starck in the 1980s.
A combination of romanticism and functionality runs throughout both brothers’ work. Like all truly talented designers, the Bouroullecs have defined a distinctive visual style, which Jasper Morrison (one of the designers they most admire) described as “thoughtful and disciplined, with a real spirit and poetry”.
