A perfect example of Michael Anastassiades' signature style, the S250 Ceiling / Wall Light articulates a simplistic and refined aesthetic. Defined by the large mouth-blown opaline glass globe, the light diffuses a soft glow around the room, whether suspended from the ceiling or affixed as a wall light. Reflecting and contrasting off the brass fitting, the lumination creates a comforting effect whether combined with the polished brass, polished nickel-plated brass or black patinated brass variation. Also available in a more petite variation as the Brass Architectural S150 Ceiling / Wall Light.
Positioned between fine art and design, Michael Anastassiades creates objects that are minimal, utilitarian and almost mundane, yet full of vitality one might not expect.
He launched his studio in 1994 to explore contemporary notions of culture and aesthetics through a combination of product, furniture and environmental design. The studio’s philosophy is a continuous search for eclecticism, individuality, and timeless qualities in design.
Michael Anastassiades trained as a civil engineer at London’s Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine before taking a masters degree in industrial design at the Royal College of Art. He lives and works in London.
