Knoll Butterfly Chair Anniversary Edition
In celebration of its 80th anniversary, Knoll is proud to release this special edition Butterly Chair, a freeing and convivial design that paved the way for contemporary furniture design.
In 1937, architects Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy met in Paris. Inspired by the 'Tripolina' – a lightweight, folding chair and staple classic of military outfitting – the 3 architects challenged themselves to create a seat which provided a sensory experience for users. Today, the Butterfly has sinuous, dynamic lines, made possible by the quality of materials involved and revolution of manufacturing processes. The Butterfly Chair Anniversary Edition is innovative, refined and timeless: three characteristics captured in a single chair by Knoll, creating a constant dimension in time and space.
