Rooted in an appreciation of traditional artisanship and design, Pereira Office’s Barro collection is richly tactile and infinitely functional. Crafted from durable terracotta in Pereira’s native Portugal, the Barro Oval Dish can be used in the oven, or as a decorative serving dish. The dish features the same rolled-edge detail and generous proportions as the other pieces in the collection, along with a striking palette of glossy colours. Rui Pereira is a nomadic designer and researcher from Portugal. Having lived and worked in Valencia, Milan and Copenhagen, Pereira has developed a clear and incisive design language that results in beautiful yet functional products.
Pereira has collaborated with a variety of brands and designers, including visionary Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola and Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada. He currently works for Danish design powerhouse HAY as design and visual direction manager.
