The original Grace Lounge Chair has become a darling of the GUBI collection, first developed in 2022 from a sketch Tove Kindt-Larsen made way back in the early 20th century. Tove Kindt-Larsen (1906-1994) was one of the first female designers to emerge during Denmark’s ‘Golden Era’ in the mid-twentieth century.
An architect by training, Tove Kindt-Larsen studied furniture design under the ‘godfather of Danish design’ Kaare Klint. She was an early pioneer of rattan and moulded plywood in furniture design.
