Designed as part of a commission for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the Swan™ Chair, like many of Jacobsen’s most iconic designs, is defined by its technically innovative form. Previously constrained by the materials of the time, Jacobsen broke convention by using moulded foam to create the highly sculptural and organic structure of the Swan™. A continuous curve cocoons the seater while the frame sits upon a metal four-star base with swivel capabilities, making it the perfect choice for lobbies, lounges and living spaces. Upholstered in the anniversary materials, the black PVD base pairs expertly with Fritz Hansen’s exclusive Grace Chestnut leather and is just as captivating with fabric upholstery.
Arne Jacobsen was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Jacobsen’s buildings and products meld modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
Arne Jacobsen is synonymous with stunning Danish designer chairs and lighting. His most iconic designs include the Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair, Egg Chair and the AJ Table Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
