Since 1936, exceptionally talented joiners and woodturners have collaborated to produce the beautiful Shoemaker Chair™ on the Danish island of Funen. Carved from a single piece of wood, the seat showcases the beautiful grain of the wood, with the intricate patterns making each stool completely unique. Over the years, Werner have refined and updated the design, demonstrating their exceptional attention to detail and drive to pursue perfection. Perfect for pairing with a high cafe table or counter top, the design is also available as a low stool.
A family of renowned Danish woodturners, the Werners make the iconic Shoemaker chair from their workshop on the island of Funen.
The Gislev Drejerforretning joinery was founded in 1913 and has been presided over by three generations of the Werner family. Werner have worked tirelessly to renew and fine-tune their creations, emphasising simplicity and timelessness to create classic pieces that will stand the test of time.
