Inspired by the material palette and quiet elegance of the maritime world, the Solas Side Chair celebrates outdoor living with effortless simplicity. British designer Matthew Hilton draws on familiar, time-honoured forms to create a piece that feels both contemporary and enduring, where beauty is found in honest craftsmanship and purposeful design.
Gracefully curved teak slats and a durable stainless steel frame offer lasting comfort and resilience, standing up beautifully to the seasons. Lightweight and stackable, it adapts easily from relaxed family lunches to larger garden gatherings, while the warm contrast of timber and metal brings understated character to your terrace or patio. Designed to be lived with, the Solas dining chair invites you to slow down and savour every moment outdoors.
Born in 1957, British furniture designer Matthew Hilton studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at Kingston Polytechnic.
