Drachmann is Skagerak’s longest-living outdoor series, having been launched in 1982, and it remains a fixture of the brand catalogue. Influenced by the Danish poet and painter Holger Drachmann, the design strikes a timeless balance between Nordic nostalgia and modern simplicity, and ages beautifully thanks to the use of premium wood. Pieces in the Drachmann range develop a distinctive silver patina with age, and have in turn become highly desirable objects. Though designed for the great outdoors, the Drachmann Table would be at home inside too, and is small enough to move around conveniently if necessary.
Danish designer Bernt Santesson is painstaking, calm and friendly, his infectious optimism extends to his life ethos: he believes it is easier to treat people with courtesy than to not.
Life is his greatest source of inspiration.
