With its generous proportions yet slight silhouette, the Colemore Three Seater Sofa from SCP offers something that stands a little apart from the traditional sofa. A modern take on the kind of open-front seating of the Victorian and Edwardian period, Hilton's award-winning eye and attention to detail is once again on full display. Whether paired with the highly impressive Colemore armchair or placed on its own, the three seater sofa is a hugely appealing example of highly contemporary furniture design, and is made in Norfolk in the UK.
Born in 1957, British furniture designer Matthew Hilton studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at Kingston Polytechnic. After graduating he worked for Capa as an industrial designer and model maker. He then went on to set up his own design studio/workshop in 1984. In 1986, SCP was the first designer furniture manufacturer to produce Hilton’s work.
Matthew Hilton has since gone on to work with many international furniture manufacturers including CASE, Montis, Authentics and De La Espada.
