Story

Designed to take a special horizontal spotlight bulb, the Oluce Spider Table Lamp features a sheet metal reflector purposely built to create direct lighting, with a plastic joint enabling the light source to tilt, the lamp is ideal for task lighting and sits perfectly within a home library or office environment. Available in both table and floor versions and winner of the 1967 Compasso d’Oro award, the Spider Lamp has become part of the permanent collection in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum of Düsseldorf and the “Neue Sammlung” Museum in Munich.

In his brief but brilliant career, Italian industrial designer Joe Colombo produced a series of innovative designs which made him one of Italy’s most influential Italian product designers of the 20th century.

Thanks to this energy and optimism Joe Colombo produced an extraordinarily broad body of work in his tragically short career. Colombo’s modern lighting and furniture products are produced under license by international brands like Oluce, Kartell, Bieffe, Alessi, Flexform and Karakter Copenhagen.
