Expertly pairing three curved pieces of plywood, the design of the AKA stool combines flowing lines and rigid geometry together to create an eye-catching piece of furniture, as much a work of contemporary art as a seat. Interactivity and functionality are key to Konstantin Grcic’s process, creating objects that inspire the unconventional. The AKA stool’s tilde-shaped upper section functions similar to a backrest, but can also be used as a handle or an element to lean on.
