Conceived in Arne Jacobsen’s garage, the Fritz Hansen Swan Chair was designed to adorn the lobby and lounge areas of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, where its striking curves and bold silhouette made it an instant sensation. The soft, organic structure cushions and supports and the user, while the leather upholstery puts a luxurious twist on the classic design. What set the Swan Chair apart was its shape, a far cry from the traditional linear forms being used by other designers of the period.
