Inspired by the jellyfish - the meaning of Kurage in Japanese - this domed luminaire is made of washi paper, allowing it to provide a warm glow and deliver ambience within a number of settings in the home. The lamp is set upon four ash legs, expertly constructed and with impeccable craftsmanship, resulting in what is an exquisite, unique sculptural piece.
The Nichetto=Nendo Exhibition was a unique coming together of two designers connected by a collective vision. The exhibition, displayed during Milan Design Week in 2013, presented a collection of seven products that were created through a collaboration between Luca Nichetto and Japanese designer Oki Sato, founder of Nendo.
Inspired by Japan’s tanka poetry, in which one poet writes the first three lines and another poet the final two, Oki and Luca sent each other ideas to complete. The result was seven co-designed products and a lasting friendship.
