Designed by Ron Gilad, the Flos Lightspring Wall Light is a sculptural piece envisioned for contemporary lighting manufacturer Flos. Inspired by a corkscrews twist, the light provides delicate indirect light through a moulded methacrylate diffuser. Dispersing light that is reflected off of a wall, its sleek form can be rotated 45° on its vertical axis. Available in a single or double form, a combination of Lightsprings can be conjoined to form a larger, more eye-catching and striking wall fixture.
Born 1972 in Tel-Aviv. Now lives and works in New York City. Ron Gilad's hybrid objects combine material wit with aesthetic play; they sit on the fat, delicious line between the abstract and the functional. Gilad is fascinated with philosophizing about the common objects we live with.
His work, which vary from one-off to limited editions and production pieces, have no 'expiration date' and reside in both public and private collections worldwide.
