DoNuts is a surprising table-seating combination. The inflatable seating part carries a polyester table top. The seating part of the DoNut looks like a huge doughnut with a 1.9m diameter, allowing at least 6 people to join the table.
Donuts provides mobility in the garden. You move the table where you wish to use it: on the terrace, on the grass, in the sun or in the shadow … enjoy the weather, do nuts!
Materials & Finishes
The DoNuts table top is made of polyester. Polyester is a material that consists of two or more components: polyester resin and filling components, like glass fibres. A spray technique is used to make the tabletop for DoNuts, using a needle gun that cuts the incoming glass fibres and sprays them on to a mould, together with the polyester resin.
Before spraying the polyester, a gel coating is sprayed into the mould. This coating is the smooth finishing white layer of the table. The coating protects the polyester underneath against UV radiation.
The nylon Extremis uses for the Donuts cover is 1680 D ballistic nylon with a PU (polyurethane) coating on the back. This coating prevents the woven nylon wires from sliding away from each other. The coating sticks the nylon wires together, so the textile itself gets a high tensile strength in all directions. Especially for Donuts, tensile strength is very important, because the inner floated tube, puts a lot of pressure on the nylon cover.
The nylon can be cleaned with ordinary soap water. It still is a textile and you should always be careful with sharp objects or floors.
