Born in Milan in 1921. He took a degree in architecture in 1948 at the Milan Polytechnic. In 1953-54 he was Visiting Professor at the Design Institute of Illinois, by the Institute of Technology in Chicago. In 1955 he founded an office in Milan with Bruno Morassutti and worked with him up to 1960.
His design activity has earned him numerous awards such as the Compasso d'Oro prize in 1994.
