Forming part of a beautiful family of expertly-worked Italian clay terracotta pots, this piece is extremely durable and water-resistant. The inside of the Terracotta Pot is glazed and features a drainage hole, while the outer is rich in shape and characterful in tone.
Consisting of two parts, the Terracotta Pot is modular, allowing for the piece’s top section to be removed, meaning that it can stand alone alongside the base, or on top of it, elevating its contents. Bold and imaginative, the Vitra Terracotta Pot may seem familiar at first sight but is an innovative new approach to an everyday object.
Thelonious Goupil is a French industrial designer based in Paris.
Following his graduation from Ensci-Les Ateliers in Paris in 2016, Goupil trained at Ransmeier Inc. and Jasper Morrison Ltd. He now aims to develop sustainable and intuitive objects in collaboration with quality manufacturers.
