Created during World War II by Jean Prouvé, the Solvay table is an example of interior design projects planned and released by Prouvé’s studio for the chemical company Solvay, this is where the Solvay table gained its name.
The signature design of this table follows the aesthetics of necessity due to an ongoing scarcity of metal during World War II, hence the reason for the table’s wooden legs. A sense of ease and a homely feel are captured by the solid wood components and fine oiled finish of the Solvay Table.
