In 1949, Charles and Ray Eames developed ESU as a system of free-standing shelves. Together with the Eames Office and the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, a carefully defined new colour composition was chosen to give ESU a fresh and contemporary look, celebrating the spirit of the 1940s and 50s. The second feature of the new ESU is the adjustment of the horizontal dimensions and the expansion of the variants, turning ESU into a veritable family of shelves. A beautiful and versatile addition to a contemporary office or living room space.
