No longer investing their time into creating rocking chairs, many designers overlook their potential, labelling them as too quirky and now redundant. Muller Van Severen thought the complete opposite, taking inspiration from his childhood memories to create an iconic seat consisting of a luxurious leather or linen cloth, spanned between two horizontal steel or brass bars. With transparency being a key factor in the design, its condensed aesthetic creates a striking, floating illusion of emptiness, enabling the user to cleverly see through the chair's form. Whether utilised in a bedroom or as an accent chair in a living space, the Rocking Chair is captivating and thought-provoking, making it the perfect statement piece in any environment.
Combining the talents of both Fien Muller and Hannes van Severen, Muller van Severen was founded in 2011.
