A former dancer and choreographer, Antonino Sciortino brings a fresh perspective to his pieces, using soft iron to produce effortlessly graceful pieces with eye-catching forms. The Serax Kyoto Table Lamp - Tall’s geometric profile and contrasting finishes gives it a distinctly industrial aesthetic, enhanced by the pool of warm light cast from under the shade. Also available, the Serax Kyoto Table Lamp - Wide.
Antonino Sciortino was born in Palermo in 1962. At the age of eight, in his father’s shop, he began to forge some small 'soft' iron pieces normally used for binding big iron bars. His passion for dance lead him to Rome where he started his carrier also as a choreographer. During his spare time he kept on designing iron works and now, this is his main activity. Even though he gave up dancing, he is able to express the lightness of dance in his iron works, creating sculptures mixing experiences and emotions. Nowadays he lives and works in Milan.
