As the Tidelight is hand blown in a mould, each and every lamp is unique. The textured glass, which is reminiscent of car headlights, swathes the lightbulb and creates a diffused and warm light. Due to the glass being thick it allows the lamp to be positioned on either the floor or on a surface, stability being maintained by the square cork base.
Pierre Favresse is an ambassador of the ‘nouvelle vague’ in French design. Trained as a cabinet maker in the Ecole Boule before attending the Arts Décoratifs school, where he now teaches, Pierre Favresse brilliantly mixes traditional and high-tech techniques to create optimistic and simple pieces.
