Machined from dark and porous lava stone, the Converge Bookends have a distinctly sculptural aspect. When separated, the pair of abstract forms can be used to prop up a line of books, the richly textured surface standing out against the backdrop of wood or metal shelves.
Colin King’s artistic genius shows through in the cleverly interlocking design, allowing the bookends to be used elsewhere in the home as decorative objects. The matching cutouts allow the two parts to be combined into a sculpture, creating an intriguing and tactile decorative object suitable for display on pedestals, as a dining table centrepiece, or placed on a coffee table.
