A contemporary of the likes of Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, E15, in collaboration with the Herre family, have reissued a number of pieces that seek to re-establish the German designer's place within the wider furniture landscape. Initially designed in 1926, the E15 Zet Rug showcases Herre’s exceptional use of colour and unique graphic experimentation. Handwoven in India, using only 100% pure wool, the resulting piece is one rich with heritage and craftsmanship, adding a dynamic touch of contemporary and historic design to the modern home.
A prolific architect, interior designer and graphic artist, Richard Herre was born in Germany in 1885.
Unlike his contemporaries who rose to prominence during Weimer Germany, Herre's legacy as an important figure within the history of furniture and design has only recently been uncovered. Herre's work is finally being reappraised thanks to his iconic designs been adopted by the likes of E15.
