Conceived by acclaimed British designer Matthew Hilton, the Somme Bed reflects a philosophy where purity of line meets purposeful comfort. Its pillow-inspired headboard softens the silhouette, expressing a refined, contemporary aesthetic grounded in thoughtful craftsmanship.
A timber frame and solid oak or walnut legs provide enduring strength, while tactile bouclé upholstery - finished with precise French seams and offered in two tones - brings depth and softness. Available in double or king, the Somme Bed elevates your bedroom into a composed, restorative retreat, surrounding you with quiet luxury at the beginning and end of every day.
Born in 1957, British furniture designer Matthew Hilton studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at Kingston Polytechnic. After graduating he worked for Capa as an industrial designer and model maker. He then went on to set up his own design studio/workshop in 1984. In 1986, SCP was the first designer furniture manufacturer to produce Hilton’s work.
Matthew Hilton has since gone on to work with many international furniture manufacturers including CASE, Montis, Authentics and De La Espada.
