One of the masters of Danish furniture design, Hans J. Wegner first designed the CH29P Sawbuck Chair in 1952. He was inspired by the sawbucks and saw horses traditionally used by carpenters and woodcutters - a shape which is reflected in the legs of this chair.
This design was taken out of production in the 1970s until, at a request from Wegner’s daughter Marianne, it was reintroduced 20 years later and became an immediate success. The Carl Hansen & Son CH29P Sawbuck Chair has an elegant, contemporary aesthetic, with an ergonomically curved back and seat. Available in either an oiled oak, soaped oak or black-painted oak frame, this chair has an upholstered leather seat for enhanced comfort.
