Japanese Sashimono is a highly skilled craft that emphasises beauty, functionality and durability - its defining detail lies in interlocking wooden joints that hold furniture frames together, without the use of nails or screws. The Tsugi Shelf draws inspiration from these traditional techniques, featuring refined joints between solid teak and oak elements that are secured with an elegant brass peg.
The Tsugi features a precisely milled groove, ensuring frames, books and other items stay neatly in place. Its simple, sleek design, free from visible fittings or brackets underneath, makes it ideal for minimalist interiors where an understated aesthetic lets spaces breathe, placing your carefully curated objects in the spotlight.
Since 2008, interior architect Sharon Fisher and architect Matteo Barenghi have combined their Danish and Italian sensibilities in a cross-border design partnership.
Together, they have collaborated with the prestigious Danish brand Carl Hansen & Son, creating pieces defined by understated elegance, exquisite craftsmanship and premium materials.
