Holding a special place in the world of contemporary design, the Carl Hansen & Son CH24 Wishbone Chair - Soft embodies an irresistible matte finish, available in a range of timeless colours. Providing the utmost comfort and being recognised as the “ideal chair”, its innovative design has been meticulously constructed with more than 100 steps required to manufacture each piece, most of which are carried out by hand.
Named after its Y-shaped back, its striking design fuses the back and armrests into one singular element, providing stability to the steam-bent top and ensuring ergonomic support. A timeless icon of modern Danish design, this matte-painted variant is perfectly utilised as a stand-alone seating solution or as a set around a dining table, adding a touch of style and exclusive design to your interior space. The CH24 Wishbone Chair is also available in a gloss-painted version - The CH24 Wishbone Chair Painted Frame.
With his love of natural materials and his deep understanding of the need for furniture to be functional as well as beautiful, Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) made mid-century Danish design popular on an international scale. He began his career as a cabinetmaker in 1931 and subsequently entered the Copenhagen School of Arts & Crafts. After receiving his architectural degree in 1938, he worked as a designer in Arne Jacobsen and Erik Muller's architectural office before establishing his own office in 1943.
