The classic form of the shoemaker stool is the timeless embodiment of painstaking artisanship and Danish minimalism. Found in workshops across the country, these stools become an extension of the craftsperson’s body, the contoured seat providing exceptional support and comfort.
Mogens Lassen has revitalised this design classic, breathing new life into the ML42. Originally designed over eight decades ago, and rendered in solid wood by the exceptional talents of the artisans at Audo Copenhagen, this deceptively simple piece of sculpture makes the perfect addition to any living space.
Danish Architect Mogens Lassen produced simple, functional wooden furniture pieces which have gone on to become furniture icons.
After attending school with his brother (Flemming Lassen) and Arne Jacobsen, Mogens also went on to join the studio of architect Tyge Hvass. Mogens Lassen brought international fame to Danish design with countless awards and medals, including the C.F. Hansen Medal, Denmark’s highest architectural honour.
