Torbjorn Afdal was among the most prolific post-war Norwegian designers.
Receiving a gold medal in 1959 at a renowned craft fair in Munich, his furniture was among the collections of The White House and the Japanese Emperor. In 1960 he designed the multi-purpose bench Krobo which became an instant classic due to its beautiful aesthetic, unique flexibility and many uses.
