Born in 1913, Jacques Biny was a major French luminary in the 1930s. Graduating from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, Biny worked for nearly thirty years on developing his profession by perpetually questioning the functionality of models, as well as their illuminating effectiveness - working on light quality sometimes to the point of obsession. Despite his unfortunate passing in 1976, his products are still extremely relevant and to this day stand the test of time.
