Francis Cayouette was born in 1969 in Canada and graduated from the School of Industrial Design at University of Montreal (1989-94 BA). From 1994 to 1999 he gained experience in a design studio in Montreal working in the fields of transportation, furniture, house ware and appliances.
In 1999 he moved to Copenhagen and set up a design department for an architect firm. Spending his time between the architects and the new business, he initiated collaborations with different Scandinavian firms and in 2004 Unit10 design became an independent firm exclusively dedicated to industrial design.
