D. D. Trans

A pseudonym used by Frank Tuytschaever, D. D. Trans is a name taken from a now-defunct transport company. Debuting his work in 1990 he partly retired from being an artist in 2005 before preparing for a comeback in 2014.

Using every-day, often domestic objects and finding inspiration in DIY stores, his work consists of taking objects, removing them from their everyday framework and creating contemporary art, recently working with Valerie Objects to design a set of mirrors from used paint can tops. He does not break radically with his past but picks up where he left off. Some ideas return after all those years but have been worked out in more detail.
